acquisition

Hello

Just picked a 1960 English Rogers Mardi Gras finish kit 20, 12, 16, 14 x 5 matching snare with swivo tom holder, disappearing cymbal holder. original snare stand and two cymbal stands (Ajax?). The kit is a one owner kit that was purchased in London in 1960 and then came to Canada.

The kit needs a couple parts, 2 B and B lugs and 3 bow tie tension rods. Otherwise the kit is in remarkable condition for a 64 year old kit.

Can anyone give me a source or two to pick up replacement parts? Note they will need to ship to Canada.

Also any idea of the value of this kit as a collectable. I think the mardi gras finish and overall very good condition of the kit make it kind of special but i'm no historian

All the Best

Hi
First up, how about a few photos?
There is an ebay seller in the UK called stainless1955. He has had a lot of English Rogers parts pass through his hands over the years and would be my first call.

Your rods will probably be Ajax rather than Rogers bow ties (top rather than bottom)

Value deepens on condition hence the photos.

How sure are you of that date of 1960 - just sounds a bit early.

Re: acquisition

thanks for the reply !

1960 appears right and the kit has the original sticker from point of purchase "Drum City in London". The bow ties are the bottom ones hence Rogers and not Ajax. The collet plates are stamped Swivomatic only. No made in England stamping. The shells are vertical grain vs horizontal which I understand was later. Everything looks 100% right and unbelievably I purchased them from the original owner.

Some pics ..they are dirty and will get a complete dismantle and clean up. I will post pics then. Also not sure how to insert images here a it asked for a URL address ?
