Snuffy's Project
Gonna start here with some pictures...
First, there's my downstairs family room:
Workshop
Then there's the drums:
The Bass
The Two Toms
Box Of Rogers Hardware
It's my fervent hope to marry all these pieces together by next week. Then play them!

Re: Snuffy's Project
Your shells look great. Could you take a close up of the wrap seams at the bearing edge of the shell.
I would like to see the over-lap and how the wrap was blended into the bearing edge.
Maybe you told us, but who did the re-wrap job?

Re: Snuffy's Project
Bruce,
Wrap job was done by Precision Drum Co., about an hour north of here in Pleasant Valley, NY.
Precision Drum
And here are pictures of the wrap seams/bearing edges. Hope they are clear enough.

Seam 02
If these don't show you enough, let me know and I'll try again in a different light.

Beautiful, Snuffy. Will you be gigging with these with your new band?

Re: Snuffy's Project
I plan to use this kit with the band... as the situation permits. I DON'T want to play these in some of the s..thole bars I've seen advertising "Live Music." For those type of places I'll use the Tayes or the Tama set up.
Maybe I'm being a snob but I see myself playing in a more refined seting, for an audience that appreciates good music and the instruments that deliver it.
(Yeah right, Joe... Dream on, why doncha.)
I do sound snobby, don't I.
But that's what I want... and maybe I'll find it before I go.

Re: Snuffy's Project
Those edges look great, I've heard that Precision Drum Co does a real good job of re-wrapping and your drums are proof that they do.
Did they put the script badges back on, or are you going to do that. I assume that they did the vent hole grommet's. If your going to do it, I've posted a sure way to get them just like the factory, I'm not sure where it is, but I remember posting the procedure.
Note: It seems that most re-wrap jobs today are not done like the factory wrap. The factory wrap has the seam edge on the center of the lug mounting holes, which makes the lug tip to one side a little. Most of today's re-wraps, they place the seam edge just past the lug.

Re: Snuffy's Project
Joe, the drum's finish look great!
Agree about being picky on where to play them at. I wish Penna. had smoke free bars, that's what I dislike the most about taking the kit out.
Good luck with them!
