Re: Label????

A few months ago, Rogersoholic and I were going back and forth over a Holiday dating issue. I was unaware of a Fullerton Holiday Series Paper Tag, I had missed that they even existed and couldn't figure out what Rpgersoholic was talking about. Well, a set of Fullerton Holiday drum came up on EBay and this is the post:

"In my quest for learning about Rogers drums and working on a new dating guide, somehow I missed a whole series of Rogers paper tags. I'd never seen one, so I didn't know they existed.

A while back Rogersoholic was dating a drum from someone who posted numbers only and came up with a date that made no sense to me, I thought his cheese had slipped off of his cracker. Not so!!

Here's how it goes, I spent two hours on the phone with Bobby and others that are helping with the new dating guide and I've plugged in the missing paper tags.

I'll start in Dayton 1968 Holiday serial number 90xxx, this is when flat gray interiors ends and speckled interiors start, by the end of 1968 they're at about Dayton Holiday serial number 105xxx.

1969 is Dayton Holiday 105xxx to 110xxx also the move from Dayton to Fullerton, CA.

In Fullerton, CA they start by using left over Dayton Holiday tags and then order a new Fullerton, CA Holiday paper tag (this is the one I'd never seen). It's about the size of a credit card, has no border, starts at 10xxx, you can see one on the Black Onyx in post: [sign in to see URL]
This is a very short run paper tag from 1970 to maybe 1971, then they decide to do away with the Holiday model name and use model name Powertone.

So Fullerton, CA Powertone paper tags start in early to mid 1971 and run to the end of 1972.

In Sept of 1972 they come up with the design for the new 9/72 small sticker. They start using these 9/72 tags late 1972 or in the beginning of 1973 till 1975 and then they changed to the Big "R" foil tags.

Well, there you have it.

Rogeroholic, thanks for your input, sorry I didn't understand what you talking about. I do now.

Bruce"

So, yes this is the border less Fullerton Holiday paper tag.

Bruce
