Re: The Decline and Fall of the Rogers Drum Company: Observations & Opinions

I think Rogers made their best drums in 1966 just before CBS bought them. It was one big happy family that work together and wanted to make the best drums. They had the engineers/designers, workers, sales people, and a great family attitude of pride and integrity.

I believe that if the employees of Rogers had bought the company and kept it going in the direction it was headed in 1966 before CBS, Rogers would be alive and well to day.

Even though CBS cut corners and cheapened the parts, lugs got lighter castings, springs, felts, then no springs, cast parts not machined steel parts, the engineers of Rogers still did some great things. Like Memriloc Hardware, XP-8 drums.

I don’t think a lot of what happen to Rogers would have happened if the employees of Rogers would have taken over the company.

You'll love them. Nothing at all wrong with Fullerton drums, especially the earlier ones. Can't wait to see some pics.

JohnsRogers, how do you like your kit? Any concerns you have with Hardware, quality, etc should be rested by now........Fullertons are still the "Cadillacs" your'e a lucky man.......
