I think this is a rare Eagle Snare

I bought this Rogers Eagle Snare drum from a well established collector many years ago.

I was told it was all original to the best of his knowledge other than the heads/wires.
The snare is 5 ply, clock face strainer, tall boy hoops, BDP wrap, tube lugs and no extra holes.
The inside is stamped twice with a date of Dec 29, 1961 once from a drum shop and the second using a slightly different font . It also has a serial number 122961.

Someone help me understand this. I wasn't aware that tube lugs were used on Rogers Eagle snares yet there are no extra holes that would have been necessary had the B&B or Beaver Tail been replaced. There is not patching. Inside is perfectly smooth.

Help me understand what is going on. I have pics but did not know how to include in this post

As stated elsewhere, Rogers did not use tube lugs. The phillips head screws you show on other websites were also never used by USA Rogers.

Adjustable tube lugs are available online that would fit the original lug holes no problem.

Admire your research for answers...

Re: I think this is a rare Eagle Snare

After much research and helpful information I have determined the following.

The BDP wrap is original.. I am able to see the outlines of the previous B&B lugs... I had to look closely but they are around each of the 8 lugs.

The knob and inside of the muffler are identical to the one on my Holiday.

It is definitely a 5 ply jasper shell- not a 3 ply, It is painted a pale blue inside. some areas a bit faded

I cannot explain why the grommet attaching the eagle badge is silver in color.

Can anyone explain why the grommet is silver when everything about the drum is true (except for the lugs)"

-B&B impressions in BDP wrap
-TlB hoops
-Jasper 3 ply shell
-Clock Face Strainer
-Stamp by Detroit Drum Shop dated 1961
