Clamp in place if you can. Or cover with piece of plastic (sandwich bag type) and tape down until dry.nondisclosed_email@example.com (amosguy)Wed, 13 May 2020 23:48:21 +0000 Re: Big R restoration, saving the badgeshttps://brogersownersforum.runboard.com/p46853,from=rss#post46853https://brogersownersforum.runboard.com/p46853,from=rss#post46853What did you use for adhesive when you reinstalled the badges? I'm trying decide if I want to reuse the badges on an XP8 unwrap-to-natural maple project... Thx. nondisclosed_email@example.com (DaveydM3)Wed, 13 May 2020 11:30:11 +0000 Re: Big R restoration, saving the badgeshttps://brogersownersforum.runboard.com/p46601,from=rss#post46601https://brogersownersforum.runboard.com/p46601,from=rss#post46601More than on method, but here is what I did for mine. Remove the vent - I tapped it out with a small screw driver from the inside. Other methods an facebook. Will need a new one this method. Heat the badge with a hair dryer. Gently lift a corner and work a piece of unwaxed dental floss under a corner and saw back and forth gently and slowly. Continue heating the badge and then continue with the dental floss. It might have a tendency to break the floss, so renew as needed. I did this on several sets without damaging the backing and could reuse them later.nondisclosed_email@example.com (amosguy)Thu, 08 Nov 2018 19:22:28 +0000 Big R restoration, saving the badgeshttps://brogersownersforum.runboard.com/p46600,from=rss#post46600https://brogersownersforum.runboard.com/p46600,from=rss#post46600Guys, I have seen a number of rewrapped Big R kits that seem to have had the badges saved and of course I've also seen a number of mangled badges. They were a self adhesive foil with the vent hole through the middle. Anyone have experience/know how with removing and saving the badges while doing a rewrap on Big R / XP8 kits? ps: Just noticed there is a supplier of reproduction badges, and a few outrageously priced originals around, not looking for those options!
