I'm confident you'll find the 18" BD very adequate. I converted a 18" floor tom I've been carrying around since 1971, not able to use it much due to the size of the set with a 16 & 18 FT. Since it is now a Bass Drum it has become my go to set up, with a 12 and a 14 rack toms hanging on cymbal stands and a 5" COB snare. Even in loud settings that bass drum cuts through. The main advantage is the small foot print and quick set up. nondisclosed_email@example.com (mainedrummer)Sun, 27 Aug 2017 21:00:22 +0000 Re: Big tradehttps://brogersownersforum.runboard.com/p46380,from=rss#post46380https://brogersownersforum.runboard.com/p46380,from=rss#post46380Thanks for a deal we both are happy with. Now I have another project to get me thru the longs wet NW winter. Next time we have to spend more time, sorry you had to leave so quickly.nondisclosed_email@example.com (amosguy)Fri, 25 Aug 2017 22:26:34 +0000 Re: Big tradehttps://brogersownersforum.runboard.com/p46379,from=rss#post46379https://brogersownersforum.runboard.com/p46379,from=rss#post46379Went to Seattle last week and met with amosguy (George) and did the swap for the 18" floor tom. He is definitely a Rogers guy. His basement was wall to wall drums and most were Rogers. He's a great guy and I'm glad to have met him! I will contact you Monday. Redmond, WA, I might be able to drive over with the XP8s for about the cost of shipping (I have a Honda Civic 40mpg) Jack nondisclosed_email@example.com (musicbybj)Sat, 12 Aug 2017 15:02:46 +0000 Re: Big tradehttps://brogersownersforum.runboard.com/p46372,from=rss#post46372https://brogersownersforum.runboard.com/p46372,from=rss#post46372Jack, have one that will work for you. Picked up a Big R rescue set with White covering that was painted black. Have not have the time to start on rescue (fall project), but can send some pics if you want. Also have some cut off legs from Memriloc legs that was a conversion setup for an 18 bass drum. Drop me an email ( gnmiller@hotmail DOT com ) with your phone number and we can talk details. Live in Redmond, WA, so not that far to ship either way.nondisclosed_email@example.com (amosguy)Fri, 11 Aug 2017 22:01:57 +0000 Big tradehttps://brogersownersforum.runboard.com/p46371,from=rss#post46371https://brogersownersforum.runboard.com/p46371,from=rss#post46371This is going to sound crazy but I need an 18" bass drum or floor tom. It must have all the lugs and legs. Finish is not important but must be structurally sound. This is the crazy part....I will trade my XP8 shell pack, complete with heads and rims and lugs and legs. 22, 16, 12 and 13. This set needs to be refinished (I started it but wound up gigging it because it sounded so great) It's a natural maple finish! Some of the rims are not Rogers. This is a killer sounding set, floor tom and bass drum are canons. I will pay for shipping on the 18" you pay for shipping on the set. (I'm not totally crazy) I'm involved in a piano jazz trio and must have an 18" bass drum and, of course, I want Rogers but might consider other brand...BUT I WANT ROGERS! Anybody????
