Dynasonic question

I am a newbie here. I have had a Rogers set that I have played for years and I am now interested in what I really have. I will start with the snare.
Is there a way to determine the age of my Dynasonic Snare from the serial number.? COB (used a magnet on the shell as a test and did not cling) 14 x 5 1/2".
I have been reading that Rogers serial number process was a bit open and may not point to an actual year. I bought this Rogers drum set back in college (used with cases) around 1982 and have had it since. Came with the Dynasonic and I have kept it in great shape. Play it when I can and when I record providing the sound engineer does not mind.
I also wonder about the elastic bands that attach to the butt plates and wrap around the strainer. Are those just for the wood Dyna's or Chrome? I was thinking it was to keep the snare frame in place. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you again. Link to the elastic bands below.

Re: Dynasonic question

Elastics were in use from early in production to the middle 60s.
Post a picture of your drum and the seral number.
