Simple restoration question

I joined the other day and posted pics of my new Rogers kit in my intro post. My question is simple and I think it belongs in the restoration category but please direct me to the right place if I am incorrect.

I'd like to acquire the correct muffler to replace the one missing on the 14" tom I now own. Is there a member that sells these parts or a good place online to purchase something like that from? This kit seems to be mostly all original, and I'd like to maintain that by replacing it with the correct piece.

I mentioned in my intro post I think I got the collecting bug just from this experience over the past week finding and acquiring the kit I now own. Well, I'm going to look at another one today. lol Sound familiar to anyone? Believe me, I'm not made of money by any stretch of the imagination. I do have some money I can spend on this and it does seem like a pretty decent deal, but I almost feel like I have to get these just so someone doesn't get there first to strip these drums for valuable parts. I honestly can't believe some of the things I've read here and other places about people just stripping these for all the valuable pieces then discarding the shells in one manner or another. Simply tragic. I can only imagine all the amazing drums that have been lost forever to greedy !@#$%^&s. I get angry and a bit sad when I consider something like that.

You can find a tone control on eBay without too much trouble. Look for one that matches the unit in the other tom you have.

I have had good luck on eBay as well. Just don't buy the first one you see. I got lucky by waiting for a seller that wasn't trying to make a ton of money off me. I think I paid 30-40$ each for mine. Avoid "theolddrumshop" seller on ebay, he is a drum stripper and marks everything up. You will know it's him when there is a picture of his wife in the item pictures..... Good luck!
