opinions on Big R 14" Tom

I had to pull the trigger on this purchase, been looking for another tom for my 4 piece Big R kit.

I have to do some clean up on it, there are some spots I'm seeing that are of concern that I hope are not to big of a job. What do you guys think. Also I'm guessing the previous owner added the swivo-matic mount for some reason.

I'm looking for a bottom hoop and some tension screws and washers if anyone has some they want to part with.

The five digit D series badge number places this drum in early 1976 at the end of the transition period from the Swivomatic era. Dynasonics with badges ending in the 15000 range would have had the Big R badge in the Oval Badge location. Dynasonics above that range would have had the Big R badge in the new Big R location and no factory dampener. In all probability the original purchaser of this drum added the Swivo mount to incorporate this tom into a later 9/72 set. I would be interested to know if the shell is three ply with rings or five ply with rings.
First issue foil badges tend to be yellower in age rather than the silver of D series and RD series six digit badges. The foil face is also more prone to separate from the backing than later badges.

Just got it today

I will be taking off the hardware and going through and cleaning this beauty up. I'll be putting on a cheap hoop on the bottom just so I can play while I'm waiting to find another Rogers 14" 8 lug hoop.

John it's 5 ply with the re-rings included on that. Hopefully you can come out to the Stockton, CA gig on August 25th I'll be playing the kit.
