breads without butter and drilled tags...

Hi there all,

I'm just restauring my jet black 62 Headliner.
When I removed the lugs of the bass drum to polish the wrap I found 4 different lugs 'without butter'. I didn't notice them before. Maybe there were mounted at the bottom of the drum. Can you tell me anything about them? As a result of a reclamation I got 4 more now. Anyone who needs them?

The knobby for the cymbal arm was drilled through the paper tag. It seems in the right position and as the set used to be a celebrity set with Dyna it belongs there in my opinion. Could it happen that they met the tag at the factory or is it for sure, that the knobby was installed later?

Thanks for your opinion
Martin

Those are the earlier version b&b lugs, the flattops. Same hole spacing.

I have seen a number of tags drilled thru at the factory, it's not unusual.

When your drum was cleaned and reassembled at some point, the washers were reversed for the knobby mount that goes through the tag. You can see the imprint in the wood. The larger washers go on the top and bottom, and the smaller washers go on the left and right.
