New B&B Holiday Snare!!!!!!!

Clean clean clean, came with original wires, resonant head and an old batter head. Sounds incredible, and matches the kit quite well.

Awesome score. Having the original wires is important, IMHO. How bad are the cracks on the lugs?

Lugs, really decent, 4 out of the 8 have the slightest cracks. I hit hard, so it won't be long. But the drum is immaculate! Minus some minor tom rash. It actually arrived in tune.... believe it or not, CA to IL in March. Tuned a bit higher than my preference, but a joy to play and really responsive. First rogers snare I have owned. I would love to know what this powertone/dyna business is all about because I don't see how it could get much better. Oh btw, the blue glass b&b dyna on eBay is in my area... If I had that and a blue canister throne I would hang up my hat! but for 4k+ worth of stuff I would probably just get a new C&C drum kit.
Thanks for posting~

That drum may have a Holiday label, but it was built during the transition to Keller shells and it has the same shell as the Powertone snare: thinner plies, sharp edges and tapered rings - very different from the Jasper shells used up to that point.. A sweet drum...

I think I see FW hand printed on the paper tag, may have been build by Frank Waltersm according to the post on FB by his son.

As always, Dan C has a great eye. That is, indeed, one very rare drum and it undoubtedly sounds fantastic.

Wow, thanks for all the info guys! I got my 14x14 floor tom from the same guy, i wonder if it also has the fw? I passed up a 12x8 from the guy i have been buying my newest additions from. I should look into this. Odds are it has b&b and a keller shell too, I know it has some rash on the wrap though.

"Frank Walters
Like to say hi, my name is Frank. My dad worked for Rogers in Covington,Ohio. So if your inside label has a "F" or "FW" like the ones in the photos, my dad made that drum. Just thought I would share. When I get around to it I will take pictures of the goodies I have."
