Re: Dave Clark Drum Kit Sale and Provenance.
NutBox,
I've also heard that he refuses to release their music to be released on CD, is this true? And he was also the producer of several tv shows and he won't release the rights to those either?
It has been said that he has become somewhat of a recluse, refusing interviews etc, and that when he was still active he became increasingly difficult to work with.
Have you heard any of this? It's very curious...

Re: Dave Clark Drum Kit Sale and Provenance.
Nut Box, are you saying the auction was shut down by a single phone call? How can Dave Clark (or anyone else) stop someone from auctioning a drum set?

Re: Dave Clark Drum Kit Sale and Provenance.
Someone phoned Bonham's Friday morning and said, as I understand it, that they are not DCs drums. Bonham's feel they are in a position where they have to withdraw the sale. There is an ongoing situation, emails flying around, and I am sorry that I will say no more right now. Let's wait and see.

Re: Dave Clark Drum Kit Sale and Provenance.
It is a shame this went that way. Still, the work you did on the article is amazingly detailed, and worthy.
Are there any updates?

Re: Dave Clark Drum Kit Sale and Provenance.
I talked with John just before Christmas, he was going to pick up the set and let things lie for a while.

Re: Dave Clark Drum Kit Sale and Provenance.
If that drum set came across the pond to the U.S., believe me, the owner, would not fear a lawsuit from Mr. Dave "Wacko" Clark.
