Re: No Politics Here!

Im sorry, for my response to a recent thread and if anyone was offended. I was just stating a personal veiw on how I and others are living and whats happening to many of us as people. Funny thing is Im not a political person, {maybe its time I should}. Some how, I dont think we should be blaming ourselves for whats happening and I said so. I tend to blame our leaders, instead of myself. I dont know why, but I feel compelled to respond to these post. Probally becuase of my personal experience and frustration and not having the knowledge to change them. Once again, Im sorry

Rogers-O, right about now, with everything that's happening throughout our world, I think we all feel the same pain. Maybe that's why we're showing up at this website and taking solace.

I know that mentally right now, I, too, am going through tons of stuff with addictions and life-threatening trauma in my family (not covered by insurance, incidentally). Snuffy's bouncing back from near-death cancer. There have got to be others of us here with similar tragic things going on, including inadequate finances.

Isn't it truly amazing that a bunch of us have bonded across the world around drums? Rogers drums? A drum company? A defunct drum company?

This is some pretty heady, heavy stuff.

Take care, and keep on talking. The rest of us are out here listening.

I know exactly how you feel RO. A lot of us are in that same boat, I know my wife and I are. It might be a good idea to start a board right here on Runboard (it's free) to express our anxiety about the human condition. I would join in a group like that for sure. I'd do it myself but I've got my hands full right here. Think about it.

I'll give it a shot!

I have created a forum for political rants.

There is a forum where liberals can chat with like-minded liberals. No conservatives allowed!

There is a forum where conservatives can chat with like-minded conservatives. No liberals allowed.

And, there is a debate forum where liberals and conservatives can (politely and intelligently) debate the issues.

See what you think:

Re: No Politics Here!

American politics never seem to change... just the names involved in the processes. Years and years ago, before some on this board were born, I happened upon a TV interview with the senior senator from Massachusets... and was impressed with the non-answers he gave to legimate questions. On one particular "Yes/No" question he took us all on a 15 minute trip through the various offices of the federal government.
That interview prompted me to write a poem.

I present it to you here:

Hope you enjoy.

-Joe

P.S.: For those of you too young to know... this poem was written on a clever device called a "Typewriter."
It used to be a necessity in any office setting.
