jcc..... I do not begrudge you at all for your purchases. I do have issue with strippers who come here and try to justify what they do, have done, and continue to do. Which, is to strip perfectly good drums and sets for the dollar value of the parts. That is the real issue here. Some strippers arent selectively dedicated. Some will strip anything and everything. I hate them all.

I`ll never deal with any of these rip off artists and i mean that in more than one way.Absolute slaughter of beautiful drums and thanks for the heads up.Unfortunately there will always be people that will buy these parts which in turn feeds the market.Supply and demand is such a cruel term.I`ll be sure to let many know about these cut-throats.

Wayne: this is an age-old issue that boils a lot of people's blood, including mine. I wish we had an alphabetized and better-vetted list on ROF, as occasionally someone has been mentioned who is not truly a "stripper". Before I alert you guys, I contact the seller and ask a simple question: "what was wrong with the drum?" Usually I'll get back something like "Nothing, I just make more money with parts." There it is. The other side of it is we need to be generous with our own parts bins and always help out the guys looking for parts in our Wanted section, if possible. There are some very generous people here on ROF!

Not only did he strip a perfectly good set of big R's he tried to rip me off big time with shipping costs, would not combine postage as stated in his ad. I know I should not buy from these strippers, but, the reality is they will seel the stuff and someone will buy it ( and maybe sell it off again at a higher price ! ) Tried to negotiate with him, but he would not and filed a no payment complaint against me.
So, I'm still after a Big R 16" top and bottom hoops, tension lugs and legs ?????? Anyone on here have them to spare ? Will post in parts wanted section as well.

leonyam, I replaced the original knobby/hex legs on my 1977 Big R 16x16 floor tom-tom with Memri-Loc legs. I still have the originals with all of the screws and washers if you're interested.
