14x14 with beavertail lugs - do they exist? Yep, got mine!
Just unpacked this. Paid about £130 before shipping. The drum is not a collectors drum but having said that it is the only 14x14 with BT lugs that I have ever seen.
My seller had taken sticky plastic off the drum - which has preserved the wrap. There is no fade to be seen under the hardware.
The leg mounts have been replaced with USA cast ones. Someone has not been able to unscrew the lug screws and has resorted to sawing off the lugs, so 3 of them have their screw boss missing and gouges to the wrap, but mostly the damage can't be seen. The shell is beech as usual for this size (my B&B one is beech also) and has been sanded inside. But all in all I'm a happy obsessive.
It will go with these -
and this -
Looking for the bass now.

Only just noticed this post nutbox, I see you've gone back to owning a grey ripple set again. I remember the one you sold around the same time as I bought mine. You did say you regretted selling it! Love the 14x14, I prefer smaller FT's anyway - more focussed sound, mine has a 16". Did you have any luck finding a BD in grey ripple?

Re: 14x14 with beavertail lugs - do they exist? Yep, got mine!
Hey Funky', got it last week!
Drove 3 hrs to Glastonbury for the 20" bass and a 16" FT. The FT was a dog, looked like it had been assembled by a gorilla or something, never seen one like it. One of the rerings was an afterthought and nailed in. Bearing edge was non-existent. The wrap was overlapped and the grommet not central and painted white inside. The wrap had two huge cracks in it. I wonder if it was one of the ones assembled by Premier, so much of it didn't look like the work of B&H.
The bass is a peach. The seller was a guitarist and he hadn't realized there was a problem so we negotiated on the final price and I came away pleased.
The FT, I'll use for parts. My 14x14 needs the legs and a few lugs. I have another FT that needs the hoops and another that needs the rest of the lugs, so worked out well.
I'm working on getting it all together and cleaned up. Just noticed my 14x14 appears to have been sprayed silver inside at one point and someone has rubbed it down inside and done a fair job of getting rid of it. There was never any paint on the rerings and edges though which is a blessing.
Came across this the other week, the only other 14 with BT lugs I've seen.
NOT MINE - Found this on a Rogers fan site. ER Bop Set - 18 Bass (6 lugs) - more stuff to find!

Re: 14x14 with beavertail lugs - do they exist? Yep, got mine!
I'll look forward to seeing it when it's done!! That really is a dinky little kit with that 18 kick. I've just converted my 16" FT from my gigging kit (Sonor) into a jungle bass drum. Got a riser, a super kick 2 head, black logo'ed reso and 16" maple hoops. Looks the business and ideal for smaller gigs where space is at a premium. Plus you can always mic the kick up if needs be. Maybe you could make a ER jungle kick with your spare bits and pieces. Although it's a bit sacrilegious!! How many ER kits you got now? and where d'ya put em all!! By the way I've got an ER 20" hoop minus the inlay if you or anyone you know may be interested?

I tried to email you a couple of months ago about that hoop but got no reply. Have you changed your email since you registered here? The Dave Clark kit need a hoop. Had to get one elsewhere.
ER Kit? - too many, I make it seven. I need to thin them out.
What kind of a riser did you get? How do you find it?

What a shame! [email protected] must've forgot to update it! I made the riser out of steel plate and a piece of round bar. Haven't used it a great deal as i've had a knee op recently and am not drumming at mo

Re: 14x14 with beavertail lugs - do they exist? Yep, got mine!
I made a riser with some different thicknesses of MDF. Tailored it to my pedal and 20" bass drum. Works OK. Gives me the correct height but the hoop jumps off it occasionally. The bass can't go anywhere, just wobbles a bit. I just need to hold it down a bit better. Don't want to pay for one and find it is no better than what I have made.
