Re: Rogers (English) Badges
Oh dear there wasn't one in the shed. However I did find some pieces/bits of Grey Ripple wrap from a 16 floor tom that I was going to rewrap. The wrap on the tom and the bass drum were badly cracked so I was going to rewrap the whole kit, I stripped the tom 2 or 3 years ago (it was rolled up on top of a cupboard - I don't remember putting it there) but then I found other drums and it didn't make sense to do it any more. It is all a bit bitty. How much do you need?

Re: Rogers (English) Badges
Hi Nutbox!
Woo - hoo! I can barely contain myself!
What a star! I can probably get away with a piece 8" long x 6" wide - more would be a bonus!
Let me know how much you want for it?
Can't thank you enough!
Kindest regards
Steve (dikbarton57)

Re: Rogers (English) Badges
Hi Nutbox,
I have just received a mail from Baskeys who say there won't need to be a minum production quantity as they would plan to make this part of their retro-fit range which is good news for all!
He says they should sell for between £5-£8 each - again good news!
He aims to produce a sample in plastic first for dimensional checks to be made - then produce in chromed steel or stainless steel (I think Stainless may be a bit on the inflexible side personally).
I have pointed out to him that whatever material is used, it needs to be able to easily bend to the contour of the drum shell.
All I need now is to get hold of an original for them to use as a template - failing that he says they could work from a hi-res, head on, close up of the badge and height/width information in mm?
What are your thoughts? Are you able to provide either of these solutions or know anyone else that could?
Many thanks
Kindest regards

Re: Rogers (English) Badges - UPDATE!
Hi Nutbox,
I have managed to find a donor of a badge who knows Mike at Baskeys very well. He will send the badge directly to Baskeys & then its just a matter of how long it takes them to manufacture
As soon as they become available - I'll leave a post.
Hope to hear from you soon regarding the wrap you managed to find.
Kindest regards

Re: Rogers (English) Badges
Yeah!!
Good work for hopefully getting the E/R badge issue sorted.
Be fantastic if Baskeys can make them, i have dealt with them before on other drum products they make and the quality and service has been excellent

This is good news. Thanks Steve.

Re: Rogers (English) Badges
Sorry for delay - heavy week.
Found a piece about 6" in line with the ripple pattern) x 8". As I said the wrap was badly cracked so it ended up quite fragmented when I pulled it off. I think I might have had bass hoop inlays in mind when I kept this stuff cos it's just bits. The piece in question is a little faded of course, probably like your drum. There is a small crack in it but it is in line with the ripple and would disappear with a little something rubbed into it once on the drum. There is a crack also up in one corner but again would disappear when stuck down or you might be able to avoid it.
Send me your address it you think it will do.

Re: Rogers (English) Badges
Hi Nutbox,
No worries.
That sounds absolutely ideal - thank you so much!
My address is:
37, Lyefield Road West
Charlton Kings
Cheltenham
Gloucestershire
GL53 8EZ.
I believe the donor badge has now gone off to Baskey's - so should have some news shortly with regards to the lead time. Will post again when I have some news.
Once again thank you so much for finding this wrap for me - god only knows how long it would have been before I found any - if at all!
Kindest regards
Steve
