Sumfin phunny bout it
When you look at this drum, to me.. its missing 3/4" of a 6 1/2" shell. some proto type. Those wires do look funky. This guy has/had alot of Rogers stuff too. Looks like Rogers did away with reinforcing rings too. Must affect the sound tho being shorter n all.

Rogers was trying new things all the time. Al Drew bought out the Rogers stock from CBS so I believe this is legit.
I also agree that it's a strange one.

Maybe it was a 1983 10 ply 6.5" Superten shell that someone cut the snare beds off to convert it into a Dynasonic.

The last real 5x14 reissue maple XP10 Dynasonic sold at almost a thousand dollars. It was pristine. I need one, (ok, I want one)...but I dont think I want this one.
