Nice looking set, Jorge! You should be able to count the plys with a head off. Using a magnifying glass will help. DanC can probably tell you more about this vintage.

Re: Dating Guide

The drums are 1969-70, the snare from 1968-9. The shells are 5-ply by that time.

I just pulled my heads on what I thought was 1975/76 Londoner as the wrap is red, white (might actually be silver), and blue speckled. Tags indicate the following serials in Fullerton powertone:

Dimensions Serial #
12 x 8 Tom 26222
13 x 9 Tom 26219
16 x 16 Tom 26227
14 x 20 Bass 73828

Can Anyone help me identify the Bass drum year? I thought is was pretty cool that toms were all close in serial but the number on my bass is really throwing me. According to latest dating guide the toms would have been 70/71. But his number on my bass drum is way up there for a powertone. my first thought was it might be a Holiday from around 67/68 with a Fullerton powertone label slapped on it. Can someone help me verify or disprove this?

Thanks.
Ddot384.

In 75/6 the Memriloc hardware came in, along with the Big R tags, and that is definitely not what you have.

Those drums are '69 or so, and the bass is probably a '71.

That bass wandered in a couple of years later: owner wanted a different size? Original bass was damaged? Kit was assembled from drums on a music store shelf?
No matter, they were built the same.

In 1972, the Powertone tags went away, and were replaced with the small 9/72 tags. These were used until 1975.
So, your drums were all made between 1969 and 1972.

Hi All,

Trying to help a friend sell an old Rogers floor Tom:

Its 16X16 with a red and black pattern
Label says Holiday Model, Cleveland Ohio
Number is 37264
Inside is grey with flat head screws
Legs are hexagon shaped instead of round

Any idea how old its ?

Thanks,
Dave

Re: Dating Guide

Dave: the umber puts it in Cleveland in 1961, according to the Revised Dating Guide posted on ROF. Perhaps DanC can confirm.

Re: Dating Guide

Dave: my mistake: the revised Dating Guide puts that tom in Cleveland in 1963, NOT 1961. Still a great year for quality drums before CBS took over a few years later.
Dan1C can give more info on hardware, etc
Peace,
Hugh
