Removing wrap!
I've found that using a hair dryer (very carefully) to remove wrap or contact paper/plastic (ugggg) makes the job much easier.
With wrap, start at the seam and heat it carefully and then start to lift the wrap very slowly and keep the heat on it and work your way around.
Same thing with contact junk. I have a set of XP8 shells that had been covered with a silvery type contact plastic (yukkk). The guy I bought them from had just tried to pull it off, without heat, and what was left was a gummy, gluey mess. He left the 8x12 alone and I used the hair dryer and, voila!, it all came right off glue and all.
Remember...don't over heat....carefully, carefully!

Re: Removing wrap!
I have a set (4) of New England White Concert drums that a friend of mine found in the garbage. he gave them to me because they match the set I play on. Anyway, the previous owner put a lot of stickers on the covering of the drums. Can I use a hair dryer to remove the stickers without removing the wrap from the drums?

Re: Removing wrap!
No. Peel it the hard way I think. For glue residue, you could use con bond citrus cleaner for laminate. Just be sparing at the seems and edges.

Re: Removing wrap!
There is some stuff called "Goo Gone" that will remove the sticky residue left after peeling the paper off. I think that is the same citrus cleaner ThePloughman is talking about.
