Hey Tommykat1...........The first time I laid chops was on a Black Onyx back in 68 at age twelve so that would be the erra for me if I were to recover the BRs but after removing the wrap on the BR toms,I can't bring myself to re-wrap the beautiful grain flow pattern of the Keller shells,just no way so I'll just stain them and apply some type of clear coat. After reassembling the toms,even with the bad edges,the sustain was enhanced greatly as was volume, you still retain the Rogers sound,it's just that the attack is much quicker which I like......Later Jack

I'm confused. Are you still talking about not rewrapped but just stained drums here? I'm wondering how much diff wrap makes on sustain & tone.
