Re: Big "R" Value
I have a metallic silver XP8 kit. Not sure how rare it is though. I think drumfarm.com has a few midnight mist kits, and single drums.
And Platinum -- never seen them. They would be my personal "Holy Grail" color. If I ever see them, I am grabbing them -- even single drums.
I think that "Mojave Red" color is also fairly rare. I saw a script R Mojave Red kit last month on craigslist, and then on E-Bay (same kit). I should have grabbed it.

Re: Big "R" Value
I bought a snare stand from the mojave red guy. drove ten miles to his house and picked it up. Originally he wanted 750 for the drums with all hardware. It was a sweet deal. Three ply fullertons, they needed collet noses, and thats about it.

Re: Big "R" Value
You always seem to live real close to people selling drums. Must be a "karma" thing, or maybe payback for helping old ladies plant their geraniums, who knows.

Re: Big "R" Value
Tommtkat1........Thanks for the color samples<i really like the one by the red and the two by the burst
The 13 and 16 toms came yesterday and I have to be honest with you,I'ved garbage cans that sounded better than these toms, total big disappointment, the reinforcements rings are seperating from the shell at a few spots and the bearing edges have many many irregularities with light showing at both ends when placed on a marble slab, the bearing edges are in Real bad shape. Do you guys have suggesting who to send these shells to and how in the world to you remove this wrap, this is a tough wrap in my opinion with a durable backing...........Jack

Re: Big "R" Value
Regluing the rerings isn't difficult if you have a coulpe of clamps and wood glue. Force the void apart, squeeze in some glue and clamp until dry.
As far as the edges, it depends where you are located. If you're anywhere near Columbus (Ohio), you need to take them to Columbus Percussion. Chris White is a wizard.
Removing wrap can be tricky. I have used a hair dryer with moderate success. It's easy to pull up some of the outer ply but that can be filled and sanded. Others here use a heat gun which takes the glue out quickly. BE CAREFUL! Wrap can flame up in a hurry.
Good luck!

Re: Big "R" Value
California Wine is very rare.
Jammin Jersy in LA had a few pieces in that finish. Maybe they still do.
