Do any of the experts out there know if this blue sparkle Luxor is the real deal?

He has all positive feedback and takes Paypal. The drum looks legit and would probably clean up real nice.

That's a 1964 Rogers Blue Sparkle Luxor. The internal muffler is NOT a Rogers muffler and is installed in the wrong location. If it were installed by Rogers, it would have to be a special order because Luxors didn't come with internal mufflers, and it would have been in the bay to the left of the throw.

The drum looks to be in nice shape.

FYI...All Rogers drums, snares, bass, toms, prior to the 9/72 Fullerton, CA had large paper tags on the inside of the shells, model type, where made, and serial number.

The tags were glued on over the bent over script badge nails on snare drums and bass drums. Directly across from the script badge is the vent hole, on the bottom of the bass drum, one bay to the right on snare drums, so you can look through the vent hole and read the tag information.

On the bass mounted toms the vent hole is in the front one bay to left or right of the script badge, depending on one up or two up toms, and the paper tag is glued inside across from the vent.

On the floor tom the vent is on the back side across from the script badge and the paper tag can be seen through the vent hole.

The 9/72 small paper tags were in that general location, but most of those have fallen off.

That WMP Luxor is a nice drum, all original looking. Even has the factory Rogers heads, probably never been off of the drum, and yes it has the special order factory/dealer installed internal muffler.

The BS Luxor sold for $202.50. Seems like a good buy. Am I right?

Bruce, by your estimation, then, the tag appears to be in the right place, correct?

Yes the tag was over the bent over nails that hold the script badge on, I could see the outline of them and that is the correct/usual location.

The only problem/issue is that it had a non Rogers internal muffler installed in the wrong location. The drum, I'm sure sound great, its a Rogers drum.
