I had a set of Black Rogers once.......

I sold them to buy something new........ I ended up with a used Ayotte Custom.

HI tommy, i have a quick peek now and then when im at work but dont have time for a good browse, not like used to at my other job!!! im going to try and make more time when im home in the evenings. as for ploughmans drums they are real beautys!!! real nice.

On the Memrilock BD/Tom Post Receiver Mount placement...... I noted that this mount was reversed from my 1977 Rogers, and all others I have seen, but after examining the 1983 Catalogue closely,.........Ive notice that all of those where you can see detail on this mount........the tightening screw always faces the drummer. In the 1980 XP8 catalogue they were still being mounted with the screw facing away from the drummer.

By the way, these drums sound awesome. If the guys at CBS could have only realized they were killing the golden goose.

I corroborate. My 1980 BD has the wing screw facing the audience.

Ain't that the truth. The XP8s have a very amazing sound. I can remember when I got mine in 1980, the guys in my band noticed the difference vs the 1967 Headliner and commented on it often.

Pretty neat that you caught the reversed receiver...
