Re: Yes! B&B Lugs CAN Be Repaired!

FIVE YEARS ON REPAIRED B&B LUGS

It has been five years and my 1960 B&B lugged Rogers Parklane, aka "Good 'ol Stew McGoo" is still intact. There is no sign of any lug failure or additional cracking from the Propoxy20 repair method. And remember, these drums are stored under tension. The snare lugs, in particular, are highly tightened as any modern snare would be.

Just ask Jack Souligny, our illustrious owner of the ROF! Here is a pic of Jack on Stew in February, right around the five year anniversary of the repairs.

SIX YEARS in February 2014 on the Propoxy20 B&B lug repair method. No issues!

BTW, I've been using my red sparkle Holiday snare with the repairs for rehearsal, so it gets played even more than the other drums.

Re: Yes! B&B Lugs CAN Be Repaired!

UPDATE: seven years on the repaired B&B lugs, no issues. I'm playing out my beloved Parklane cocktail outfit, aka "Stew McGoo," regularly again in a cool three piece dinner band. Loving it, and Stew always gets great comments, because he looks so freaking cool!

As always, these drums are stored under tension, ready to play.

Hi I'm repairing these lugs using glass fibre and epoxy and can insert special thread inserts as well. Essentially you can build a shell within a shell to take the load off the real outer shell. I need some broken lugs to work on so if any of you forum members out there have any spare broken ones (particularly ones with broken off tabs) please let me know by PM thanks
