The Kinks - English Rogers

Hi Guys!, Having a good Weekend?

Some vids

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4DV-5d6a5g&feature=related

I think Mick Avory is playing a Chrome Dynasonic. Not sure if its a COB or not I don't think the British style kits had a Powertone back then or a COB Dyna as such....What do you guys think?

Enjoy! emoticon

All the Best,
Cliff

Re: The Kinks - English Rogers

Hi Cliff,
Thanks for posting this, i've only just seen it. I had no idea that the Kinks' drummer used English Rogers. This gives me more photos to look for.
There was an English Rogers COB dyna. Go to the English Rogers section and you will find a discussion between Powertone and myself regarding the dating of these and some photos (although Powertone's had gone the last time I looked).

Mick Avory's kit is a bread and butter lugged one, so 1961/64 but it has the knobby legs so this gives us 1963/64 which is the correct date for the start of the English COB Dyna.

It could also have been one of these

This is not mine but is a plain COB snare available from 1961.
