I had a green cymbal also.
I soaked it in warm water and baking soda for about a day. It cleaned right up.
Then I did Brasso. It looks pretty good now.

Brasso is abrasive and I do not recommend it at all. Do the soak and then use Groove Juice. After the cymbal is dry spray it on let it sit for a few minutes and rinse it off.

Re: Guys - I need your help!!!!!!
Of course - bearing in mind the two schools of thought on this - (never clean or clean) I recommend Paiste cymbal cleaner. It works really well on all cymbals. What you do is immerse the cymbal completely in water, lift out the cymbal and then pour on the cleaner and rub with a wet cloth on a flat surface, keeping the cymbal wet all the time. Whatever the formula is, it is very good and will clean to the amount of cleaner and effort you put into it.
I don't like green cymbals, so I use it on those. But only enough to get the "all over brown" look back.
My 2¢ on cleaning cymbals: As an experiment, I once cleaned a 20" Paiste 602 pre-serial ride from very grungy to sparkling clean and I recorded it meticulously before and after. I cannot hear any difference at all. I think it's more likely that the aging in cymbals is the metal settling and changing slowly over time and that the patina is not the issue. However - that Paiste ride is worth less, cleaned, than not cleaned.
If a green cymbal is played enough, the green will fade from use and packing and unpacking, unless it's had drinks or sweat spilled on it, which need to be removed, imo. I have also heard good things about Groove Juice, btw. Good luck!

PK.

Re: Guys - I need your help!!!!!!
Bring it to a plating place or any that has sulfuric acid. have them dip it and rinse it. You might want to bring a plastic rope too {to string through the hole}. You wont believe what you will see. Sounds like they were inna real damp place. Copper {in the brass} sulfides. I have never cleaned my cymbals or used anything on them other than a soft dry cloth, they are 70 years old.
