Great! Great! thanks tommy, finally to here from someone who was actually at the factory and in charge,if you talk to john again tomkat, can you ask him how many Big "R" xp10 wood dynas were made?my view is that they are rarer than the 60's Dynas.

Kelporch, you are definitely on-the-spot. Believe it or not, I have asked John some more questions, and that is one of them! Too cool. I am awaiting his answers, and I have also answered some questions he posed to me. Thank you for commenting, and for being savvy about this.

Bottom line is, it may very well be true that the XP10 snares--which were only produced for those last two years of Rogers existence--are the most rare of all Dynas and Supertens. I believe this to be a fact.

if we can get more of John's input on the forum, he may assist in solving some of the mysteries that were surely lost in the first two editions of the Rogers book.

We will definitely have to work out a deal on this 5 x Dyna XP10 thingy. Other wise...... one of us is going to pay through the nose for the next one available.

I have 3 XP10s..... Two @ 6.5 and one at 8.

ya know [sign in to see URL] honestly think that drum tommy picked up is the same one that sold about a year or so ago. That would make it ONE. There was a second one about five years ago........ it was horribly maltreated to the max though. Irreparably damaged and altered.

Yes, Kel and Ploughman, thanks, I know I'm lucky to have a 5" XP10. Ploughman cracks me up every time he sees a picture and tries to sweet talk me out of her!

Ploughman, when are you going to show us some pics of your sweethearts? All we ever hear is STORIES!

Seriously, though, I'd love to own each of the others, too. In the time I've been looking, I have never seen anything.

Ploughman, do you remember how much the 5" XP10 you saw a year or so ago went for?

It was really close to a grand. Above 950 if I remember right. I also saved a pic........... but theres nothing uniquely identifiable in the pics. I also dont know who the seller or buyer was on that one.
