Re: Vintage Rogers sightings
Wow, I haven't played brushes in years. Or even any stright up jazz. Just some swing stuff with the band I'm with now. It was really great seeing a master. Isn't there a guy named, like "smitty" Smith or something like that? I remember seeing him a while back and thinking he was pretty good with the brushes

Re: Vintage Rogers sightings
Well this is the best video I could find, not the best quality. It's of Billy Martin playing a Tower kit, I think.

Re: Vintage Rogers sightings
Very nice, I remember taking lessons using brushes to the Mills Brothers singing, "You always hurt the one you love" and " Paper Doll".....I like using them still (the brushes, not the Mills Bros"..........

Re: Vintage Rogers sightings
Young man, you may be able to come up with some new uses for brushes......new applications, anyway, it's a cool sound, soothing at times but well, just "cool"

Re: Vintage Rogers sightings
ya, i enjoy playin with brushes when im messin around at the college, as i havent bought me some yet. this is gettin way off-topic, but o well, i was playin after class today, then some guy comes in and ask me to play for him, of course, im not confident about playin in front of people like that, mainly because i just go blank, so i told him im just tuning the drums haha.
