Vintage Rogers sightings

After posting the Gene Krupa video to youtube, I thought about all the vintage Rogers I've seen on video, on youtube and elsewhere. I thought it would be cool to start a thread with links to videos containing vintage Rogers drums.

I'll start off with one of Buddy. The first part is a little intro with him on his 40's Slingerlands. The second part is Buddy playing the you-know-what out of his 60's Rogers:

And if you missed it the first time around, here's the clip of Gene Krupa playing Louis Bellson's B&B Rogers:

Here's a great video of Sonny Payne playing with THE rhythm section, on a sweet little black beavertail kit. Very slick brush work from a true master:

Great vids my friend. I think I will start a video/youtube forum. I save all these things and look at them over and over.

I'm with Tommykat... brush work is artwork in drumming.
Sonny Payne is a master.
Gotta remember, too, that LongRoll was a proponent of brush work in jazz settings.
Me... I used to carry brushes with me to every parade I marched in, because afterwards is when I'd get to use them on the field snare, playing along to... oh, Beer Barrel Polka or something similar.
It was great training for a young drummer.

There are clips of drummers using brushes on Drummerworld. Some of the best "lessons" I've gotten is watching someone using them.

They aren't hard to pickup, just takes a little practice.
