Beautiful Mid '60s Rogers Holiday Drum Kit - $1000.00
Okay so why is this kit sitting on the bay???

Desirable Cleveland drums, looks to be original in great condition. At $1000 why is it still available?
Other than the odd tom bracket location and repainted hoops, what's wrong with this kit!? What am I missing.

That is a very nice kit. The problem is that it was originally a twin-tom setup, based on where the mount is on top of the bass. It was either a TopHat or a Londoner, depending on the year.
What this means is that one of the toms is missing, either a 12 or a 13", and that the mount is in the wrong place for a single tom setup.
Shipping to the US only is common on ebay, it can be a hassle to ship overseas and many guys won't do it.
The price is a little high for what is there. Also, it should be starting off at $100. The buyers don't like to walk right in and put $1000 out there on their first bid.
Start the auction at $100 and set the reserve at $750 and the kit will be gone...

With ebay charging fees on shipping, shipping overseas for big $$$ will cost someone (seller or buyer). I shipped an 18" floor tom to Europe for over $100. US48 would have been much less, so ebay shipping fees are figuring in sellers item costs I think.

Thanks for that explanation Dan1C. Thought the tom mount didn't look right for a single tom. Also, good advise re. ebay auction pricing strategy, yet still think that kit sells all day at $1000.00.
